CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A Clay County deputy saved dinner Tuesday night.
Surveillance video shows Deputy Joshua Byrne ringing the doorbell at Weston Pruneda's house Saturday. He calls out, "Sheriff's office!"
Turns out, he wasn't there to arrest anyone. "I know this is really weird," he says when Pruneda opens the door, "But this is your DoorDash order."
As he hands over the bag, he says, "Your driver has ended up going to jail."
The driver was arrested and is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation, according to Clay County Jail records.
Pruneda said she ordered Steak & Shake milkshakes and fries from DoorDash, but her driver was "apprehended for some reason," on their way. "Luckily, (this) Clay County sheriff's deputy loves DoorDash like me, and delivered our milkshakes himself."
Clay County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook, "Deputy Byrne went the extra mile... to deliver dinner!" They're giving him five stars.
Pruneda said unfortunately, the ordeal left her fries cold and soggy -- but her milkshakes were great, still cold and "not melted."
