Here's why 'The Running Suit Guy' runs 5K races around the First Coast in a full suit

Chris "The Running Suit Guy" Gommlich has his suit decked out with many patches.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — If you run in races around the First Coast, you may have noticed one runner who is not dressed in the typical shorts and sneakers of most runners.

Chris Gommlich, known as "The Running Suit Guy," runs races in a full suit. It's more than just a jarring sight, as Gommlich has patches of businesses and local charities on his suit to raise money for charity.

One of his patches is the logo for Veterans' Village of Northeast Florida, which provides resources for the homeless veteran community.

On Saturday, Gommlich joined First Coast News Anchor Rich Donnelly for a run around the station's parking lot while he described his history of becoming "The Running Suit Guy," as well as sharing his upcoming race schedule and why causes are important to him.
