JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Pull out your favorite pair of sandals, sneakers, or stilettos and dance the night away at San Jose Country Club!
This Saturday, May 18th, the Child Guidance Center is holding its 3rd Annual Sandal, Sneaker, and Stiletto Gala from 6pm - 10pm. The center currently provides mental health services to 5,000 children and their families in the Jacksonville area.
President and CEO Dr. Theresa Rulien says every dollar raised at the gala will be used for essential counseling services.
"We need to encourage people to go out there and talk about anything that is on their mind, on their heart, and to recognize that it isn't just "those people" that have illnesses with mental health. It is all of us. We all have days where we are anxious or we are depressed or fearful. If we embrace that, it's a lot easier for us to deal with it," Dr. Theresa Rulien explained.
According to CGC, with every ticket purchased, auction item bid on, or donation pledged, you are directly contributing to the provision of essential mental health counseling services for children and families.
