JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Carnival Cruise Line is offering a chance to soak up the sun at its new exclusive destination on Grand Bahama, which is set to sail from Jacksonville.
The company said its new private destination, Celebration Key, will be available to 18 Carnival ships sailing from nine U.S. ports including Jacksonville starting in 2025.
The exclusive destination features the largest lagoons in the Caribbean with a front-row seat to white sand beaches, family-friendly fun, an all-exclusive adults-only club, and various dining options for everyone to enjoy, Carnival said.
"Celebration Key is uniquely positioned to bring an island experience to our diverse range of guests, in a way that lets them choose their slice of 'paradise'," said President of Carnival Cruise Line Christine Duffy.
All of Celebration Key's amenities will be inside five separate areas called portals.
Here's a look at what each portal has in store for guests.
The Welcome Portal is where guests will be guided toward their own kind of fun. Carnival said a massive sand castle with water slides attached at the center of the resort will greet guests along the journey to their personal paradise.
The Family-Friendly Portal is a place kids of all ages can enjoy. The portal will feature waterslides, freshwater lagoons, sports courts and so much more. There will also be beach loungers and cabana rentals for parents to relax and unwind.
The Adult-Friendly Portal was designed for adults looking to relax and lounge by Celebration Key's freshwater lagoon or the beach. Similar to the family-friendly portal, there will be several cabanas and villas available for purchase. Guests also have a chance to order their favorite cocktails from a swim-up bar which also features curated music from a DJ. There are also several dining options including some offering local Bahamian flavors.
The Private Club Portal is an adult-only retreat featuring an infinity pool, overlooking the white sand beaches with private access and "elevated dining experiences" and beach loungers.
The Retail Portal will feature local retailers, artists, food and shopping surrounded by murals painted by Bahamian artists.
In addition to these portals, Carnival says there will be an events pavilion that will be avaliable for hosting weddings, vow renewals and other special celebrations.
The cruise line said it plans to further expand Celebration Key in the future outside of these portals, including adding a waterpark and zipline course.
Carnival said it plans to release more information about Celebration Key in the coming months.
