BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Buc-ee’s will break ground on its new travel center in Brunswick on Jan. 29, the third location of the convenience store in Georgia.
It will be located at 7156 Highway 99, occupying 74,000 square feet and offering 120 fueling positions. The investment is about $30 million.
Buc-ee's owns the world's largest convenience store, which is in New Braunfels, Texas. Founded in Texas in 1982, Buc-ee’s operates 47 stores across Texas and the South. Buc-ee’s favorites including Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries will all be available. The chain is also known for its clean restrooms.
“Brunswick is a natural stop between our Florida and South Carolina locations on a stretch of interstate near the beautiful Georgia coastline,” Buc-ee's Director of Real Estate Stan Beard said. “The community has welcomed us with open arms, and we are excited to finally get started here.”
Buc-ee’s Brunswick will bring more than 200 full-time jobs to the area, with starting pay beginning well above minimum wage, full benefits, a 6% matching 401k and three weeks of paid vacation.
The groundbreaking is 10 a.m., Jan. 29. A date for the store opening has not been announced.
