JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update 1:58 p.m.: The fire is now under control, according to Clay County Fire Rescue.
Fire rescue, law enforcement and the Florida Department of Forestry are responding to a fire in Melrose. The fire is surrounding the area of the 5600 block of Sleepy Point.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says deputies are evacuating the area as of Wednesday afternoon.
The fire is five acres and has not yet been contained, according to the Clay County Fire Rescue.
