All-clear given after bomb threat at FSCJ's South Campus in Jacksonville

Out of an abundance of caution, the school says all students, faculty and staff should evacuate South Campus immediately.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The all-clear has been given at a Jacksonville college after a bomb threat caused a campus-wide evacuation Monday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) South Campus on Beach Boulevard around 3 p.m. in response to reports of a suspicious backpack/bomb.

Out of an abundance of caution, FSCJ says students, faculty and staff were immediately evacuated from South Campus after learning of the suspicious item.

JSO located the backpack and says that nothing dangerous was found.

At this time, it's unclear when students will be allowed back on campus.

JSO says bomb threats have serious consequences and officers are investigating.
