ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A boater went overboard in the St. Johns River Friday afternoon, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Two men were onboard a boat south of the Palmo Boat Ramp in St. Augustine when one fell off the boat, police said. SJSO says they received the first call around 1:07 p.m.

The other man turned the boat around but could not see him.

Hours later, search teams were still in the St. Johns trying to find the boater.

The Coast Guard, Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Clay County Sheriff's Office as well as fire rescue workers are all joining the search effort.

Drones, helicopters, boaters and divers were attempting to find the boater south of the Shands Bridge.

Police say the boaters launched from Trout Creek boat ramp.

FWC is heading the investigation. They say there is no foul play involved and water conditions caused the accident.
