If you were planning to go to the Blue Crab Festival in Palatka this year, we've got some bad news. The event has been "permanently" canceled this year, according to the Blue Crab Festival Committee.
This year would have marked the 30th Annual Blue Crab Festival. The Blue Crab Festival Committee announced the cancelation on Thursday, stating financial difficulties as the problem.
"We would also like to thank a few companies who stepped up and offered to help however they could ... willing to help the festival in one way or another," a press release said.
Companies that stepped forward to help included Burkhardt, Ron Sholes, Hogwash BBQ, Florida Lottery, Fresh from Florida, Hungry Howie’s, Ag-Pro, Sunbelt, and Publix.
Vendors who sent an application will be reimbursed.
