JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville Wednesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was crossing Normandy Boulevard from a Burger King parking lot traveling toward Granville Road.
FHP said the bicyclist failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a car passing by. The driver of the vehicle came to a stop at a nearby turn lane.
FHP said the bicyclist was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk area.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries but was pronounced dead shortly after.
