JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission rescued a beached manatee in Jacksonville on Thursday.
The adult male manatee was taken to SeaWorld for rehabilitation.
FWC investigates reports from the public before rescuing an animal, if necessary. The manatees are either released on site or captured and taken to a care facility to receive treatment, according to FWC's website.
The ultimate goal is to release sick or injured manatees once they have received care.
