ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Good Samaritans helped rescue a person who went into cardiac arrest Saturday following a Jet Ski crash near the St. Augustine Inlet, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
The crash happened about two miles north of the inlet.
Fire rescue said exact details of the crash are unknown, but first responders said one of the occupants of a Jet Ski was found in the water unconscious and in cardiac arrest.
He was rescued by good Samaritans in pontoon boat and the Samaritans performed CPS, according to first responders.
First responders were able to gain a return spontaneous circulation and the patient was rushed to the trauma center at Orange Park Medical Center.
A second patient sustained non-life-threatening injuries, fire rescue said, and a third patient was treated and released.
The incident is under investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
