Anheuser-Busch investing $10 million into Jacksonville Northside brewery

Anheuser-Busch opened its Jacksonville facility in 1969 and it has played a crucial role for the company ever since.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Anheuser-Busch is investing $10 million in improvements to its Jacksonville brewery to boost economic growth in the area, the company announced in a release Monday.

The brewing company is responsible for bottling popular domestic beer brands Michelob ULTRA, Busch Light, Budweiser and Bud Light. Anheuser-Busch opened its Jacksonville facility in 1969 on the Northside and it has played a crucial role for the company ever since.

The $10 million will go towards facility upgrades, including updates to "critical manufacturing equipment that makes beer production possible" and other plant infrastructure, according to the company.

“Investing in the communities where our people live and work is part of who we are. At Anheuser-Busch, we’ve been producing high quality, great tasting products for generations, and through continued investments in our facilities like our Jacksonville brewery, we're improving our capabilities and also contributing to the prosperity of the communities we serve,” Anheuser-Busch Chief Executive Officer Brendan Whitworth said.

Anheuser-Busch has more than 120 facilities across the country and has around 65,000 employees. In the last five years, the domestic manufacturer and brewer invested nearly 42 billion in its facilities to help drive economic prosperity, the release states.

"We have been proud to brew in Jacksonville for the last 55 years, and this new $10 million investment will not only improve our local facility here but also make a positive economic impact in our Duval County community. Anheuser-Busch's investments in its facilities, including our brewery here in Jacksonville, ensures that we are able to continue showing up locally as an employer and community partner while brewing at the highest quality and efficiency standards,” said Craig Tomeo, the senior general manager of the Anheuser-Busch Jacksonville Brewery.
