Adventure Landing will stay open another year -- again

The park first announced plans to close in 2021.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — The owners of Jacksonville's Adventure Landing have announced the park's beach location will stay open for the 2025 season.

It's the fourth time the park's stay of execution has been extended, after Adventure Holdings LLC filed for bankruptcy and announced the park would close in 2021. At the time, records showed the company had agreed to close the park by the end of October and clear out all the equipment at the site by February 2022.

Then in December 2021, the park announced they would push the closing date to March 2022.

This date passed without a closure. Eight months later, the Jacksonville Beach City Council voted to rezone the property for apartments.

But the project never came to fruition, and Adventure Landing announced at the end of 2022 they would stay open for the 2023 season. And so on.

In addition to announcing the park will remain open through 2025, a release from Adventure Landing says the park is planning to "develop another water park location."

The park, which typically sees around 500,000 guests a season, will reach its 30th anniversary this year.

It remains to be seen what will happen for the summer of 2026.
