JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An 84-year-old man was killed when he was hit by two vehicles while walking on I-95 near Kings Road in Jacksonville Friday.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the man was killed around 3:30 a.m. while walking northbound in the roadway.
He was first hit by a van full of people traveling from Emporia City, Virginia. The passengers, four adults and three children, were all uninjured.
The 84-year-old was then hit by a tractor-trailer traveling from Jacksonville. The driver, a 59-year-old man, was also uninjured.
The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
Later, FHP found his car on the shoulder of I-95, where it appeared to have hit the guard rail.
Both incidents are under investigation.
