JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 62-year-old man from Jacksonville died in a crash Monday night on the city's Northside, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
A 56-year-old woman who was driving an SUV, was traveling southbound on State Road 5 in the right turn lane approaching Busch Drive at 11:02 p.m., FHP's crash report states. At the same time, the man was walking in the lane in front of the vehicle, according to the report.
FHP says the woman "was unable to avoid the pedestrian," as the front of the SUV struck the man; troopers say he was pronounced dead on scene.
FHP did not release the man nor woman's identity.
