4 Jacksonville-based companies crack Florida's top 100 places to work, according to Forbes

Survey participants were asked to rank their employer on a scale of zero to 10 in how likely they would be to recommend them.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Four Jacksonville-based companies were featured in a recent Forbes ranking of top 100 places to work in Florida.

According to a survey by the recruiting and consulting firm Robert Half, "only about 35% of workers plan to look for a new job in the second half of 2024." This is down from 49% the same time last year, the article states. The firm cites "global uncertainty" as a reason people aren't as eager to switch workplaces this year.

But if that number were to go up again in 2025, what companies have the best chance at retaining their employees? Forbes partnered with a market research firm, Statista, to survey more than 160,000 employees of large companies in the United States to figure out which are doing the best job at retaining their staff and keeping them happy.

Survey participants were asked to rank their employer on a scale of zero to 10 in how likely they would be to recommend them.

The number one place to work in Florida, according to this survey, is American Express, which is headquartered in New York City. NASA was fourth. Publix, headquartered in Lakeland, was 36th.

The first company headquartered in Jacksonville to appear on the list is the insurance provider Florida Blue at 21. The company is currently in a contract tug-of-war with Baptist Health over cost increases. Baptist Health came in at 66 on the list.

The other Jacksonville-based employers include Florida State College at 62 and Nemours Children's Health at 94.
