Shooter flags down officers after 2 people killed at Arlington home, JSO says

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man flagged down officers, stating he had shot two people around noon on Whitlock Avenue.

There was a heavy police presence on Whitlock Avenue in Arlington Thursday afternoon.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people were found dead after a shooting in Arlington Thursday afternoon.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office blocked off the 1200 block of Whitlock Avenue, just off of Arlington Road, and investigated the incident. 

Police said officers were flagged down around noon in the area by a man who said he had just shot two people at a home. 

Officers detained the man, later identified as 42-year-old Daton Haggary, and found two people dead with apparent gunshot wounds.

"At this time, we do not know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships of those involved," the agency said in a release. "Because of this, the classification of the incident is pending."
