PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — A 16-year-old paddle boarder was rescued by a U.S. Coat Guard boat and St. Johns County Fire Rescue marine unit in Ponte Vedra Beach Wednesday, according to a press release from the U.S. Coast Guard.
The call came in at around 4:30 p.m. The paddle boarder was drifting away from shore and was not able to get back to shore due to the weather.

Multiple agencies responded for the missing person search. Almost 45 minutes later, a helicopter spotted the 16-year-old about one-and-a-half miles off shore.
He was rescued and has no injuries.
