Jacksonville woman says property was vandalized, items stolen while she was in the hospital

Carol White contacted the Ask Anthony team for help. When she returned to Jacksonville after recovering from surgery, she found stuff scattered across her property.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville woman contacted the Ask Anthony team for help after her property was vandalized while she was in the hospital.

In October of 2023, Carol White had medical problems. For about two months, she was recovering and staying with her daughter in Palm Coast. When White returned to Jacksonville, she found her things scattered across her property off of Chaffee Road.

"I think someone knew I was gone and knew I wasn't here," White said.

In January, White filed a police report with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. So far, no arrests have been made.

According to the report, a lot of items had been taken from the property, including several old vehicles, a boat, and more than $13,000 in lawn equipment and trailers.

White said there was a lock on the gate to her property.

"They cut three locks off since January the 5th," White explained.

A neighbor told her he spoke with the people who took her stuff. White says the people, two men and a woman, told her neighbor she was dead.

On top of all of that, the camper she was living in on the property is missing.

"It's gone.  Her house is gone. The camper she was living in was completely taken," Carolyn Fulton, White's daughter, said.

When White is finished with her recovery, she wants to return to the property.

"I'm on a fixed income. I'm 78 years old. I need to get it cleaned up so I can live here," White added.

According to the police report, no cameras were in the area to see what happened. The Ask Anthony team is currently searching for help with cleaning up the property. You can email AskAnthony@FirstCoastNews.com.
