TAMPA, Fla. -- The purse that hangs in Amanda Alvear's bedroom is the same purse she was carrying the night of June 12, 2016, at Pulse Nightclub.
That night, she was also carrying a cell phone. It was a phone with Snapchat video that captured the first couple of gunshots.
It would be the last thing Alvear recorded on that phone.
"Thank God I have these memories she left behind, but there's something that went missing that we can't get," says Mayra Alvear, Amanda's mom.
The phone she knows Amanda Alvear had when she was murdered.
"We don't know where it is," Mayra Alvear said. "We contacted the FBI they don't know where it is. We contacted the lawyers. Her phone is nowhere to be found."

10News also contacted the FBI. They collected many phones that night and took them into evidence. While many items have been returned, there are still some phones that remain FBI property.
Federal investigators said they are looking into where the phone might be. They also tell us they are in direct contact with Mayra Alvear and her family.
For her, she knows she'll never have her daughter back but can only hope the device that captured so much will be found.
“Those are memories, lasting memories, that I’m missing of her,” Mayra Alvear said.
