A woman died after an incident in the Lackawanna area on Thursday morning where she sustained multiple injuries.
At approximately 12 a.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the 2500 block of Beaverbrook Place in reference to a person who had possibly been shot.
Upon arrival, police were directed into a residence where they found an unidentified woman, around 55 years old, who had "multiple injuries" to her body. Jacksonville Fire Rescue responded to the scene and later pronounced the woman deceased.
At this time, we have not confirmed her injuries to be gunshot wounds.
