FLA, USA — All Florida universities are being urged to move classes online due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19), according to the State University System of Florida.
On Wednesday, the State University System of Florida said effective immediately, all universities will make plans to transition to remote instruction as soon as possible.
The system said, "As we have continued to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 virus it has become clear that to protect the students and the residents of our state, proactive rather than reactive guidance to universities is necessary. To be clear, campuses will remain open, and operations will continue, although some adjustments may be made as determined by each university. "
Florida State University said classes will shift from in-person to online starting March 23 for at least two weeks. The university will remain open during that time. In-person classes are scheduled to resume April 6.

Santa Fe College said it is taking the threat of COVID-19 seriously and for the safety of our students, the college has decided to eliminate all study abroad travel through June.
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University said all classes will shift from in-person to online for two weeks starting on March 23. In-person classes are expected to resume April 6.

Jacksonville University said all classes will be moved online starting March 16 and lasting until April 3.

The University of North Florida said students will be taught remotely (not in person) for two weeks beginning March 23 until April 5. UNF is currently planning to resume face-to-face teaching on April 6. The University has decided to cancel all large scale events and campus tours for at least the next three weeks until April 5.

The University of Central Florida said all courses will be moved online starting March 16. Classes that are already online will continue Monday. All other classes will be ready for online instruction by March 18. Remote instruction will continue for at least two weeks.

Flagler College said all classes will be canceled on March 13. All classes will be moved online starting March 23 and last for the next two weeks until April 3.

St. Johns River State College said all on-campus classes are canceled March 23 & 24 to enable faculty to finalize the transition and will resume on Wednesday, March 25 as online classes. All courses will remain online through at least April 12. All faculty and staff will report to campus on Monday, March 23, as the College will remain open and operational. All College-sponsored events, including athletic games and Thrasher-Horne Center performances, have been suspended through March 28.
