A Glynn County Police Department Lieutenant has been arrested after he showed up at his estranged wife's home and allegedly attempted to kick down the door yelling "I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill him."
According to a report from the Glynn County Police Department, officers responded to a call of a burglary in process. When arriving on scene they found a lieutenant with their agency, Cory Sasser, who was attempting to lunge past officers at his estranged wife who had called the police.
Sasser was attempting to get the keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home. However, Sasser's wife, from whom he has been separated from for a couple of months, had a man over to the house.
In her statement, Sasser's wife stated that Sasser was attempting to kick down the door while yelling "I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill him." Officers arrived on scene before he was able to gain entry into the home.
She said that both of their names are on the vehicle that he wanted the keys to, but she pays the bills on it. However, she gave the keys to the officers to give to Sasser, stating if it would make him leave she would surrender them.
Sasser drove away in a "very aggressive manner, speeding out of the neighborhood, he squealed tired as he turned onto Old Cypress Mill Rd. and ran the stop sign at the intersection."
The man in the home did not give a formal statement.
Sasser was not arrested on the spot, but later after surveillance video was reviewed by the police department, he was apprehended. He is on administrative leave without pay. He was charged for simple battery and criminal trespassing.
