But how do our beaches stack up in terms of liveability? According to a study done by Wallethub, our little beach towns are some of the most prized in the country.
WalletHub compared 192 cities across the nation across 62 key indicators of livability. The company looked at: 1) Affordability, 2) Weather, 3) Safety, 4) Economy, 5) Education & Health and 6) Quality of Life.
They evaluated those metrics and graded each city on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for beach-town living.
Jacksonville Beach, Fla. ranked #19 in the country in terms of liveability with a score of 58. It scored particularly well on 'safety' and 'weather'.
Atlantic Beach came in #39 place with a score of 55. It scored well in 'safety' and 'economy'.
