911 calls of the troubling moments before and during the incident involving suspended Glynn County Lt. Corey Sasser and a double homicide have been released exclusively to First Coast News.
Katie Kettles' mother, Debora Gann, contacted 911 and she can be heard crying over the phone, "Oh my God, Oh my God. Oh my God, no. I knew something was going to happen."
The police report of the recording details that Gann stated that she was afraid for her life after hearing the news of John Hall being allegedly shot by Sasser. Gann was made aware of the incident by Sasser's son, according to the report.
Gann said that Sasser had made threats against them before. She turned off her lights in her home out of fear.
It wasn't until another call that Gann realized her daughter was not answering her phone and she asked police to check on her.
Kettles was found dead with her boyfriend John Hall Jr. inside of Hall's home at the end of June. Officials then began a low-speed chase with Sasser until he arrived at his home and parked his truck. There was a standoff involving SWAT, but when police finally made contact with Sasser he was dead.
While officers were in the chase, 911 operators were trying to work out the details.
"Upon them going [through] the response, they told me they believe the suspect is "Corey" Sasser. He is driving a silver Toyota Tacoma. He is wearing a green Under Armor shirt and that is all we know."
A 911 operator was heard detailing the scene where Kettles and Hall were found dead: "The girl told me immediately she heard six shots. The guy is down in his driveway. They don't think he is breathing. He is not moving."
