The Clay County Sherriff's Office is suggesting moving around funds from the County to reduce the burden on the school board to fund school resource officers.
From the moment the Clay County school board made their decision to create their own police force due to budget concerns, Clay County Sheriff Daniels has made it clear that he believes it would be a bad move.
On Monday, the Clay County Sherriff's Office sent a letter and a few proposals to the Clay County School Board and the Clay County Board of County Commissioners for their review.
In the documents, Sheriff Darryl Daniels is proposes moving funds around from the County to reduce the burden on the school board.
He says this is in part a way to slow the process down that the school board started by establishing the police department.
