Around 1,100 DCPS students will lose access to bus transportation this year

Your child could become ineligible for bus transportation this year.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Changes in transportation policies at Duval County Public Schools this year will render around 1,100 students without access to bus transportation.

For the 2024-2025 school year, middle and high school students living under two miles from their assigned schools will no longer be allowed to take the bus. If your child falls under this category, DCPS should be contacting you directly.

DCPS has also extended the distance a student may live from their bus stop, which is now a half mile.
