JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was found dead lying outside of a residence in the North Shore area of Jacksonville Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO's Sergeant M. Lessard says at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers received a 911 call from the 6800 block of North Pearl Street in reference to a person hurt. Upon arrival, he says officers found the unidentified woman in her mid-20s, lying on the ground unresponsive. The call came in from a neighbor in the area, Lessard says.
Next, first responders with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, responded to the scene and is where the woman was pronounced dead.
JSO says at this time, "we cannot release what types of injuries that she does have, but there's enough that concern has been raised."
Lessard says JSO's homicide and crime scene detectives as well as the State Attorney's Office, were on scene of where the woman was found, attempting to identify the woman, speaking to witnesses and were looking for possible surveillance video. He also says JSO does not know at this time whether if foul play was involved in the woman's death or not.
Anyone with information regarding the woman's death, is asked to call JSO's non-emergency number at 904-630-0500 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
