NASSAU COUNTY, FLORIDA, Fla. — A 15-year-old student was arrested at West Nassau High School last week, the sheriff's office wrote in a press release distributed Wednesday. He was charged with making written or electronic threats to kill.
NCSO says that around 1:30 p.m. last Tuesday, a school research officer found out a 9th grade student was "making threats." An arrest report shows he wrote things such as "I'm going to (expletive) you up and put you in a (expletive) casket myself today you little (expletive)."
The 15-year-old was taken to the office and his backpack was searched.
A "fixed-blade knife" in a black sheath was found in the backpack, according to NCSO.
The victim said that the student had been making threats to kill them through Snapchat, and told him he had a knife, police said.
“We have zero tolerance for any threats or weapons being brought onto our school campuses. The safety of our students and staff is the top priority. We worked quickly with the school to identify the threat, search the student, and make an arrest. We will continue to be vigilant and take swift action anytime a threat is made," Sheriff Bill Leeper said.
