Relative: Pair killed in Jacksonville triple homicide were suspect's grandparents

The third victim has not been identified.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The video attached to this story is from a previous, related story.

A family member has confirmed that two of the three victims in a triple homicide in Jacksonville were the suspect's grandparents. 

The family member says the victims were Gregory Merritt and Uneeda Hardy. They were unable to identify the third victim.

The accused shooter, Hardy and Merritt's grandson, is Ja-Darrius Jones, 18. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday there were two male victims, ages 44 and 63, as well as a female victim (Hardy), who was 58. 

Hardy and one of the male victims were found inside the home and one of hte male victims was found outside the home. They all appeared to have been shot dead, police said.

First Coast News is working to obtain more information about the victims.

The shooting took place on the 11000 block of Bridges Road, on the Northwest side of the city near Dunn Avenue. Officers responded to the area for a report of gunshots coming from the home at about 12:30 p.m Sunday.

Detectives identified Jones as a potential suspect and learned he was at a nearby residence, according to a JSO news release. Officers went to that residence and saw Jones attempting to get away out of a window, the news release states. After a brief foot chase, Jones was arrested.
