Two men hospitalized after being shot on Jacksonville's Northside following 'verbal altercation'

JSO says one man is in his late-20s while the other man is in his early-30s.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men are recovering at a local hospital Saturday morning after police say they were shot following a "verbal altercation" at an apartment complex on Jacksonville's Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO's J.K. Richardson says at approximately 5:20 a.m., officers responded to The Park at River City Apartments, located in the 10000 block of Monaco Drive, in reference to the two unidentified men who were shot. Police say one man is in his late-20s and the other is in his early-30s. Upon arrival, Richardson says officers found both men shot in the leg and that they "possibly know each other," as they were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Richardson says detectives on scene at the apartments, are collecting evidence, looking for surveillance video and are speaking with witnesses while more detectives, are at the hospital with the two men, speaking with them. However, Richardson says one of the men had to undergo surgery so, "we weren't able to speak with him to get his side of the story" as of yet.
