JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A triple shooting has been reported in the Lake Forest area of Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the intersection of Edgewood Avenue West and Bunker Hill Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. Monday night after a call about gunfire.
As police were heading to the scene, the call was upgraded to a report of multiple people shot. Two men were found shot in the parking lot of the BP gas station.
The Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department pronounced one victim dead on the scene. Family members on scene say his name was Bruce Wilson.
A second victim was injured and taken to UF Health.
A third victim was discovered later, when he drove himself to UF Health. He was in critical but stable condition.
"What we do know from witnesses is they saw a white possible Dodge Charger pull into the parking lot. Several occupants in the vehicle got out of the vehicle and started shooting. We do know that the shooters had an intended target and we're not sure if it's the right target or not but there were multiple rounds that were shot, the detective said.
Police say rifles were used and there were at least three shooters. Police placed dozens of evidence markers on Bunker Hill Road next to the gas station.
A woman also ended up in a car crash trying to drive away from the gunfire, police said. She crashed her car into a pol.
She was not injured.
It is not known if the victims knew each other. Police are searching the area for surveillance camera but are also asking witnesses to come forward with information by contacting the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 and or First Coast Crime Stoppers.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit is investigating.
