Do you know this man? Thief caught on camera stealing sports jerseys from Jacksonville store

The burglary happened Monday afternoon at Showtime Sports Cards and Collectibles. The man is seen on surveillance video wearing a black hat and shirt.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local business owner is calling on the community to help identify a man who is seen on camera grabbing thousands of dollars worth of sports jersey’s and running out the door.

The burglary happened Monday afternoon at Showtime Sports Cards and Collectibles. The man is seen on surveillance video wearing a black hat and shirt.

Owner, Kathleen Delvecchio says he was like a normal customer, asking employees questions. She had no idea he was about to run out the door with thousands of dollars worth of jerseys.

“He had a couple items in his hand, was asking about sizing for them, which is unique because these jerseys in themselves are not, they're wearable, but they're not meant to be worn," Kathleen Delvecchio, who owns the store alongside her husband, said

After he grabs the items, he runs out the door and gets in a black truck and is gone. Delvecchio says one jersey alone can be worth up to $600.

“It's difficult. We've done a lot to try and make this a very family friendly environment," Delvecchio said.

It’s not the first time the store has been hit. Police reports show two other burglaries this year. In those instances, thieves broke in overnight taking thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, including a $2,000.00 Tom Brady gold sports card.

"It's very unsettling when you get the phone call and that somebody has broken in. But it's one of those where we've thought for each and every incident is that that no one got hurt," Delvecchio said.

“Fortunately, we have a very solid, and a very loyal customer base. So we're able to regroup a little bit with that, and we appreciate all those that continue to support us," Delvecchio said.

The owners says they have increased cameras here in at the store and are looking at additional protections going forward.

Anyone who recognizes this man is asked to reach out to police.
