A former teacher with Glynn Middle School in Glynn County was arrested Monday and now faces child molestation charges.
The Glynn County Police Department announced that allegations were made against 23-year-old Tyler Coen on March 7. Police say he was accused of inappropriately contacting current and former students through electronic means.
An investigation was launched and the Glynn County School System placed Coen on leave to ensure the safety of the students. On March 15, Coen resigned.
Police said Coen had reportedly inappropriately contacted a 14-year-old and 15-year-old since December 2017, however, there is no evidence that he had inappropriate physical contact with the children, or that the activities occurred on school ground or during school hours.
Following the investigation, Coen was arrested and charged with two counts of computer or electronic pornography and child exploitation, as well as two counts of child molestation.
If your child was a current or former student of Coen's and feel they may have been a victim, call Investigator Molly Cruikshank at 912-554-7802.
