BOWLING GREEN, Fla. — The man sentenced to life in prison for a pair of shooting deaths on New Year's Eve in 2019 in Keystone Heights has pleaded guilty to threatening a prosecutor and judge from prison.

Taylor Ryan Hill, 27, pleaded guilty to mailing threatening communications. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a sentencing date has not yet been set, according to the Department of Justice.

In the letter, Hill references gang ties and says he "is coming."

"I'm going to get y'all if it's the last thing in the world I do," Hill's letter states.

According to court documents, on Feb. 12 Hill mailed a threatening letter to an Assistant State Attorney in Clay County who had prosecuted Hill. Hill was in at Hardee Correctional Institution in Bowling Green at the time.

The letter threatened to have the prosecutor and the judge who had sentenced him killed, the DOJ said. The letter was signed “Taylor Ryan Hill” and mailed in an envelope with a return address of Taylor Hill, his inmate number, and the address for the Hardee Correctional Institution.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting Dec. 31, 2019 around 8:44 p.m. on Lori Loop Road. When they arrived they found three people shot. Liza Dukes, was shot in the back and pronounced dead when authorities arrived. James Wooten was shot in the head and later died from his injuries. A third victim Shayne Wooten later recovered.

A police report said Hill and a woman stole a vehicle near the scene of the crime and fled. Hill was later found in possession of a revolver, according to the police report.

Hill was sentenced to life in prison in 2021.
