CRESCENT CITY, Fla. — A Hillsborough County man was arrested in Western Putnam County after eluding police and living under an alias for 10 years, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

PCSO's SWAT team and Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies searched two Interlachen homes for 36-year-old John Ivy.

Ivy spent a decade on the run in Hillsborough County and arrived in Putnam County about three years ago under a alias.

"Well, turns out Putnam was his final stop," PCSO said in a social media post.

The sheriff's office established leads that Ivy was staying at two possible locations: a Mariners Lake home or 608 Evans Ave. Deputies later found him at the Evans Avenue residence with a firearm, two pounds of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms.

Ivy was arrested on his warrant for escape, possession of a firearm by a felon and battery on law enforcement. He received additional charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, resisting without violence and possession of a controlled substance.

Ivy was taken to the Putnam County Jail and held without bond.
