JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Police arrested the suspect of a gas station murder that left a man in his 60s dead earlier this year.
On Friday, police arrested 27-year-old Donovan A Smith. They say he shot and killed Willie Dornes, 65, outside a Shell gas station near Lowell and Edgewood Avenues in January.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said witness accounts led to Smith's arrest.
Neighbors told First Coast News back in January that an argument led to the shooting. JSO said Dornes died from one gunshot wound.
Smith was charged with murder, violating probation and possessing a weapon by a convicted felon.
