JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting that happened at 3 Seasons Park apartments in Jacksonville Thursday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO's Lieutenant Adam Blinn says at 1 p.m. on Thursday, officers arrived at the apartment complex located on Collins Road in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, Blinn says they found a man dead who had suffered from a gunshot wound.
When officers were canvassing the area, they found the suspect and took them into custody, according to JSO. At 2:06 a.m. Friday, JSO told First Coast News that the suspect was identified, located and interviewed during the investigation. However, the suspect and victim's identity have not been released.
After the interview with the suspect, police say they were arrested and have been charged with second-degree murder and a third-degree felony for possession of a bulletproof vest while committing a certain offense.
The sheriff's office said there were also witnesses of the shooting that are being interviewed.
JSO has not yet figured out if the suspect and victim knew each other.
