High-speed chase in St. Johns County captured on camera

Septimus Connor, 43, took St. Johns County deputies on a chase Sunday on SR 207. It was captured by the sheriff's office helicopter camera.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested and is facing several charges after taking St. Johns County sheriff's deputies on a wild chase Sunday on SR 207. The chase was captured on the sheriff's office's helicopter camera. It shows the man - identified as Septimus Conner, 43, - speeding through traffic and traveling on the wrong side of the road striking two occupied vehicles.

One of the victims reported minor injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

Conner is charged with the following: 

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl
  • Possession of MDMA
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Destruction of Evidence
  • Owning a vehicle known to traffic narcotics
  • Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding with >Property Damage
  • Leaving the scene of a crash with property damage
  • Reckless Driving

On May 5, SJSO deputies observed a vehicle on I95 traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. The driver exited onto SR 207 driving in a reckless manner and struck two citizen vehicles at SR207 and Hilltop Road, then fled on foot for a short distance before he was taken into custody. One citizen reported minor injuries due to the crash. Septimus Clyde Connor (43) was charged with: > Trafficking in Fentanyl > Possession of MDMA > Possession of Marijuana > Destruction of Evidence > Owning a vehicle known to traffic narcotics > Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding with >Property Damage > Leaving the scene of a crash with property damage > Reckless Driving
