ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County Sheriff's Office deputies and FCGU researchers are still searching for human remains on property in Flagler Estates.
Human bones were found on the property, which is off Cedar Ford Boulevard, on Feb. 8. Police say a citizen found the remains.
The investigation is ongoing and officers were still on site Wednesday, nearly three months later.
The sheriff's office has not released much information about the remains that were found. Pictures showed personnel from Florida Gulf Coast University's Human Identity & Trauma Analysis program, as well as sheriff's deputies, working in the woods.
SJCSO says its Major Crimes Unit, Forensics Unit, and Incident Management Team are on scene, as well as the District 23 Medical Examiner’s Office, Clay County Fire Rescue (K9), and a specialized team from Florida Gulf Coast University are participating in the search.
Photos showed evidence markers, but did not reveal what evidence was discovered.
