ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The St. Augustine Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying 'young adult males' who appeared on video attacking a city of St. Augustine worker, the police department posted on its Facebook page.
The incident happened on Cordova Street in downtown St. Augustine in the "early hours" of March 3 while the employee was working, according to the police department.
Police did not release the worker's identity, but said he did sustain injuries from the attack.
First Coast News was given the following statement from the police department when trying to request the incident report:
"The records you have requested are not available for production at this time pursuant to section 119.071(2)(c)1, Florida Statutes. The matter is currently in the investigative stage, and thus records pertaining to the investigation would be exempt until the investigation is completed."
First Coast News reached out to the City of St. Augustine regarding the incident and it said it cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.
