JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A source close to the investigation into the missing pregnant Jacksonville teenager tells First Coast News investigators believe Iyana Sawyer died the day she disappeared.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says Sawyer was last seen leaving Terry Parker High School December 19. The campus captured the 16-year-old on surveillance video.
The source said investigators are confident Sawyer died the day she disappeared due to the same piece of evidence they have which led them to a landfill where they have been searching for her body for weeks.
The lawyer for Iyana Sawyer's family, John Phillips, tweeted this Monday night:
