JACKSONVILLE, Fla — A man is dead after a shooting in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood Monday night.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says police were called to the 5200 block of Roanoke Boulevard at 8:50 p.m. after someone called 911 to report a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim later died from his injuries at the hospital, police said.
The suspect is described as a black male who was in a burgundy or maroon colored four-door sedan.
JSO's homicide detectives are investigating, including trying to find any possible witnesses. Police encourage anyone with information to call JSO at 904-630-0500.
