A 29-year-old man was killed Friday following an exchange of gunfire with an unknown amount of individuals, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police said the incident happened around 10:15 p.m. at the Riverview Apartments located at 301 Caravan Circle. Officers received 911 calls that shots were being fired in the complex.
At the scene, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said. That man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
Investigations show that there was an exchange of gunfire involving an unknown number of individuals which led to the man being shot, according to police. The scene of the shooting is still being investigated and police are canvassing the area for video.
