ID=30966673JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — At the same time the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced they'll scale back search efforts for 21-month-old Lonzie Barton, Chief of Investigations Tom Hackney doubled down on the rhetoric placing the blame on one individual for Lonzie's disappearance: Ruben Ebron.

Ruben was the last known person to have seen Lonzie alive, and, since Lonzie went missing over a week ago, has been arrested on separate felony child neglect charges.

William Ebron Sr., Ruben's father, spoke to First Coast this weekend, and today, both of Ruben's parents speak to Jeannie Blaylock about the child's disappearance and their son's alleged involvement.

William and Wanda have come forward and begun to question JSO's narrative.

The parents also wonder why Ruben would kill a child? It doesn't make sense to them, they said.

Hackney has called their son a liar and a monster. It hurts them to hear their son called such things, they told First Coast News.
