JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A newly-released arrest report gives new details into a stabbing on Union Street West Friday night.
Demyya Thomas was arrested Monday in the stabbing.
The report says the victim, Reginald Curtis, was her partner. They had a son together.
Neighbors told police that Thomas and Curtis often had "domestic issues," and police had come to the residence and been turned away multiple times.
The arrest report says that Thomas and Curtis were arguing around 5 p.m. Friday. When the neighbor left her apartment, she could see Curtis in the open doorway of the couple's apartment, throwing Thomas's belongings onto the front yard.
Curtis was recovering from surgery at the time, and was using a medical scooter. Thomas allegedly rushed towards him from inside the apartment, pushing him off the scooter.
The neighbor said she saw the couple's son screaming at Thomas for stabbing his father. The report says the son was in his room during the argument, playing video games and trying to escape the noise.
In a recorded conversation afterward, Thomas told the neighbor she had stabbed Curtis.
The neighbor provided the recording to police.
Thomas has been charged with murder.
