Report: 11 year old arrested for bringing gun to Beauclerc Elementary, threatening to kill other student

Police say the gun was loaded and the child was waving it around in the bathroom.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The video attached to this story is from a previous, related report.

An 11-year-old boy was arrested after bringing a loaded gun to school and threatening to kill another student at Beauclerc Elementary.

An arrest report gives additional information on the arrest, which parents were alerted to Monday.

The boy, who will not be named because he is a minor, was arrested on charges of having a weapon on school property and writing a threat to kill.

A nine year old and two ten years olds told their teacher that the boy was showing his gun to students.

Police say that the boy was waving the guy around in the bathroom, and showed students on the bus.

When police searched the boy's belongings, they found a 9mm Ruger.

Police say the boy "did not express remorse" for his threats.

"While I am very disappointed in this student’s actions, I am also thankful to the student who reported the firearm to our staff,"  Principal Matt Walker Walker said Monday. "See something, say something remains one of our best tools in identifying safety concerns. Today's unfortunate incident shows why that is so critical. Please encourage your children to say something if they see something. Thank you for your understanding and for your partnership in keeping Beauclerc a safe environment for all."
