Quadruple shooting at NW Jacksonville park started as planned fight

Police said two females in an ongoing dispute planned to fight at the Elizabeth R. Powell Park Thursday night.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A quadruple shooting at a Northwest Jacksonville park that left two people dead was not a random shooting but started off as a planned fight between two females, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Word about the fight spread and people known to both subjects arrived to watch. Some of the spectators were armed, according to police.

As the fight ensued, JSO said several spectators became involved and shots were fired. Four males were shot. The youngest victim, a 14-year-old boy, was shot in the chest and died. The oldest victim, 24-year-old Titus Mobley, was also killed. He leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
