JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police say a victim was shot multiple times outside of Cimarron Apartments, located at 800 Arlington River Dr. in Jacksonville. The gunshot wounds were nonfatal.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, the victim was leaving his or her apartment. When they entered the vehicle, the suspect approached and pointed a handgun at them, demanding "property," according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim during the attempted robbery. The victim was able to drive away in the vehicle and call 911.
The victim was taken to the hospital, JSO said. They were shot more than once, but police would not disclose how many times they were shot.
Police are not releasing information on the suspect's physical appearance at this time.
Another car and a building were struck during the shooting.
